About

WiFi FTP Server is a free app for Android devices that enables users to convert their phone or tablet into an FTP Server. With this app, users can transfer files, photos, movies, and songs to/from their devices using an FTP client like FileZilla. Some key features of the app include a configurable FTP server with a port number, support for FTP over TLS/SSL, configurable anonymous access, configurable home folder, and configurable username/password. Users can avoid using USB cables for file transfer and instead copy or backup files over Wi-Fi. The app works over both Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi tethering mode. Users can connect to a Wi-Fi network, open the app, click the start button, and then use a FTP client or Windows explorer to transfer files. For an ad-free version of the app, users can try the pro version. SFTP support will be added soon. Feedback and bug reports can be sent via email. The app supports FTPS (FTP over TLS/SSL) and the server URL for this will be ftps:// and not ftp://. Please note that FTPS and SFTP are not the same and that SFTP is not supported by this app. The app requires a port number greater than 1024, as binding to ports like 21 is not possible on non-rooted phones. The default port number is 2221 but can be changed in the settings screen. Anonymous access is not enabled by default, but it can be enabled in the settings screen. If users do not have an FTP client, they can download FileZilla or access the FTP server from Windows file explorer. The app can be followed on Twitter.
