The Gear S Plugin app is a component for the Samsung Gear Application. In order to use this app, the Samsung Gear Application must be installed in advance. Users must also allow the permission of Samsung Gear Manager from Android Settings to utilize all features of the app on Android 6.0. The app requires several access rights, including location permission to search for nearby devices through Bluetooth, storage permission to transmit and receive stored files with Gear, telephone permission to check device-unique identification information for app updates and plug-in installations, contacts permission to link services with registered Samsung account information, calendar permission to synchronize schedules with Gear, SMS permission to synchronize SMS with Gear, and call logs permission to synchronize call logs with Gear. Optional permissions include camera permission to scan QR codes for SIM activation on eSIM-supported models.
