Koronavilkku is the official coronavirus app of Finland. It aims to prevent the spread of COVID-19 while strongly protecting your privacy. Developed by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare, the app works by detecting nearby phones with the same app installed. If someone you've recently met reports having COVID-19 through Koronavilkku, you receive an exposure notification. Also, if you are diagnosed with COVID-19, you can anonymously report it within the app. Koronavilkku is suitable for all ages, and the use of the app is voluntary. It does not collect location data and stores encounter information on your device only, which is deleted after 21 days or when the app is uninstalled.
