About
ScratchJr is an introductory programming language designed for children aged 5 and up. With ScratchJr, children can create their own interactive stories and games by snapping together graphical programming blocks. They can make characters move, jump, dance, sing, and even modify them in the paint editor or add their own voices and sounds. This app is a developmentally appropriate version of the popular Scratch programming language, redesigned specifically for young children. Through coding with ScratchJr, children not only learn how to create and express themselves with a computer, but also develop problem-solving, sequencing, math, and language skills. ScratchJr is a collaboration between Tufts University, MIT Media Lab, Playful Invention Company, and Two Sigma. It is available for tablets running Android 4.2 or higher.
