About
Set DNS is an android app that allows users to force their rooted phone to use custom nameservers on WiFi for all devices, as well as 3G/mobile networks on rooted devices. It is compatible with both IPv4 and IPv6 networks and nameservers. The app preserves custom nameserver information when using both wireless and 3G/edge mobile connections. It also includes settings for Google DNS, OpenDNS, OpenDNS Family Shield, and FoolDNS, as well as an option to revert back to DHCP. Set DNS offers widgets that display the current DNS state and allow nameserver changes. Additionally, it has the ability to update the resolv.conf file and includes features to test for proxy services overriding DNS settings. Non-root functionality is available, but it comes with a disclaimer as it may cause WiFi issues on non-rooted phones.
